My first DJ gig was my college graduation class. They asked me because they knew that I had all of the music and knew the songs by artist and title. I got asked at the graduation party if I could DJ a wedding. I said yes, and I got some gigs after that.
A few years later, I was asked by a professional DJ if I was interested in learning how to become a professional DJ. I said yes, of course. I was lucky enough to follow two of the best professional DJ’s around that summer. I learned things like how to read a crowd and how to help plan an event so that it goes smoothly and nothing gets left out at the event. It was then that I decided to start my DJ business and get my professional equipment.
